Toy - Jacob's Ladder - RBW-Pick
You might not know by its name, but you might remember it. The Jacob’s Ladder is an old toy, a hundred years or so, but most kids born after 1990 haven’t heard of them. Great toy, and you can be 80 and still like it. Two- or even 1.-year olds can manipulated it any way they want, and it makes noises and folds and unfolds like endless book covers, and makes a nice clacking noise. When you're a little weary of reading the same book three times in a row, or four or five, pull out the Jacob's latter and you get a respite, while the toddler develops some motor skills and patience and all that.
Ours are wood and made in the U.S. We got 300 of them, because I wanted one for my 2-year old granddaughter and was too ashamed to order just one. They cost us $5 plus shipping, plus time to inventory, photograph, and describe. We don’t sell anything with a price ending in a 9, and everything we sell goes by a whole dollar price. As a matter of self respect, I can’t sell them for $8, so they’re $10. I’d pay 2x that.
True to form and the sign of a good one, they come a little tight. Gentle stretching loosens them so they flop better, and use alone will do that. If you pull too hard and break the ribbons, you are truly on your own.
