How Lugs Are Made

In March 2013 we (Rivendell Bicycle Works) traveled to the Long Shen factory where our lugs are made. It's an ancient process. You start with some rocks, mostly iron and some other alloying elements, melt them, mix them together just right, pour them into ceramic molds, cool them and then finish each one up by hand.
