Taiwan photo dump - willy pics - mostly a lugged roaduno sneak peek

These are the only halfway decent photos I took on our latest Taiwan trip.

These are lugged Roadini frames.

The Roadini shells have A. H. Hilsen cast in. No big deal, right? The shell has all the right angles, and that supersedes the Hilsen branding.

We sat in on the QC and everything was perfect. Here he's measuring axle to bridge distances and double checking them against the drawing. To have a point to measure from, he sharpies the rod in the dropouts and then scores a clean line in the metal using the ruler.

view from my hotel room. This particular night I woke up at 3 am and played Luigi's Mansion 3 until it was time to go to work. I had a pretty brutal case of jet lag the whole time we were there. It gave me an opportunity not only to make progress clearing Luigi's mansion of ghosts, but to talk to people back home without bothering them in the middle of the night.

Clem forks here, all fluxed up.

This isn't one of our frames, but this table shows whether the frame is aligned using go-no-go gagues and has long levers to push it into perfect alignment if it needs it. It's sort of like aligning a rear derailer hanger, but on a macro level.

This particular frame got a bump at the dropouts, probably to 142mm or whatever spacing was spec'd.

The guy waving is Hubert, the big boss of KTI, our hub maker. He's full of goofy energy, but beneath that is a deep knowledge of all things hub related. I love talking to Hubert; he's opinionated about hubs the same way we are about frames.

warehouse #1 at KTi. Those big machines smush aluminum. I think Roman has a video.

And some random snapshots from in between factory visits:

and to close it out, a selfie with Seizer and Allen from St. Jump, with Roman in the background.
